This game was made during the Pittsburgh Global Game Jam 2017, and received the Jammer's Choice award. The theme of the Game Jam was 'waves.' I worked on this game as a technical artist on a team of 6. My role included writing a shader to create the wave lighting effect, creating character animations, layout and scripting of the opening scene, and a script to take data from a csv file (using a csv reader script found online) and interpret it into coordinates to move the spotlight. My team had a lot of discussion about the gameplay, and we still wish we could have improved the mechanics. The game started off too difficult, as we tried to make the spotlight move on every beat. We tried different play styles, such as having the rock star follow your mouse, instead of having to follow him with the mouse. The one thing we agreed upon was that it was fun to see the people do the wave as your mouse moved over them, but it was hard for us to decide exactly what the gameplay would be. In the end, we were happy with the look and feell of the game, but would tweak the gameplay if we decide to work on it further.
